We purchased our first German Shepherd Dog
while in Germany in 1957. A few years
later we purchased our first female, Bel Vista’s
La Negra Onyx, OFA ROM, from the well known and successful
Bel Vista Kennels located in Lebanon IL. Each
of our dogs go directly back to our foundation, Onyx. Bred
to Grand Victor Yoncalla’s Mike, OFA ROM/ROMC,
Onyx achieved the Register of Merit Title with her
very first litter.
Since that time HEINERBURG
has dedicated its breeding program to produce the total German
Shepherd Dog with emphasis on temperament, health,
and correct structure. We strive for quality
rather than quantity breeding a litter every two
to three years. Our litters have produced multiple
champions, agility and obedience dogs, working police
dogs and military dogs. Our
puppies are born in the house, never a kennel and
raised in a family environment. We carefully
evaluate each youngster to match the right pup with
the right owner or family.
Heinerburg Shepherds is a member of the German
Shepherd Dog Club of America and signers of
their Breeders Code of Ethics. We
are currently on the Board of Directors for the German
Shepherd Dog Club of America, and the Atlanta Kennel
Club. We also serve as the Assistant
Chair for the National Futurity System for
the German Shepherd Dog Club of America. Nancy
is an American Kennel Club judge licensed to judge
German Shepherd Dogs, Junior Handlers, and the
Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
We are members of The
German Shepherd Dog Club of Atlanta, the German
Shepherd of North Georgia and the Atlanta Kennel
Club.
